Vampires Anonymous

-Vampires respect life, contrary to popular belief. Those of us who are sanguine take only enough blood to survive. Those of us who are empaths, or psychic vampires don't seek to harm those we feed from, or take so much energy that the person is nearly wiped out. We believe that everything has a spirit, or possessses some energy that makes it what it is, and that it is possible to channel that energy into other uses. -A vegetarian vampire is a rarity, because it is not in our nature to discriminate in what or who we feed on. Everything is equal in life, from the lowliest vegetable to the most proud human. -Every action has a reaction. If you abuse your power, you will be abused. If you practice patience and control, others will treat you likewise. If you lead a good life, you will reach Nivea, or paradise, and one day you may be reincarnated. If you lead a bad life, you spend eternity in the whirwind lost and confused. -There is glory in a fair battle. To win a fight where the odds are in your favor is to have your pride stripped away. It must either be fair, or against you. -Armor is for cowards who do not accept the full responsibility of their actions. In every fightyou must be willing to face the fact that you may not survive, or do not fight at all. -To fight with a weapon that requires little or no skill is to be a traitor to yourself and your kind. -You should be dependant on nothing but yourself. The only person you can trust to do a thing for you is yourself. -Everyone is born with three destinies. On one, you lead an average life. On another, the choices you make will turn you evil and send you to the whirlwind. On the other, the choices you make will lead you to good and to Nivea. Every being is born with the potential to be great. It is just a matter of what choices they make. -Vampire Gods, Goddesses, myths, legends, etc are all closely related to teutonic and celtic mythologies, vampires having partly origionated in areas of those regions. The myths are set up in sagas, songs, in those ways. The myths are closely related because of the integration of vampires into other, human cultures. There are heroes like Samhain, and Laeriad(Warrior). There are Gods and Goddesses like Saeo the god of night, Dae the god of the sun, Saeotee the goddess of the night, beauty, and the moon, and Asaeloten the goddess of nature. -If you want to read about the warrior Laeriad, the closest you can come to those are the stories in the Lebor Gabala or the Book of Conquests, Which is a collection of the earliest Celtic Myths, or you can read the Edda, which is teutonic myths, and those also come very close. | | Posted by Artemis at 3:58 PM - | |

Much thanks to Aphera, my mentor in all things Vampire for this. The Celtic festival of Samhain is probably the source of the present-day Halloween celebration. The Celts lived more than 2,000 years ago in what is now the United Kingdom, Ireland, and northern France/Germany. Their new year began on November 1. A festival that began the previous evening honored Samhain, the Celtic lord of death. The celebration marked the beginning of the season of cold, darkness, and decay. It naturally became associated with human death. The Celts believed that Samhain allowed the souls of the dead to return to their earthly homes for this evening. On the evening of the festival, the Druids, who were the priests and teachers of the Celts, ordered the people to put out their hearth fires. The Druids built a huge new year's bonfire of oak branches, which they considered sacred. They burned animals, crops, and possibly even human beings as sacrifices. Then each family relit its hearth fire from the new year's fire. During the celebration, people sometimes wore costumes made of animal heads and skins. They told fortunes about the coming year by examining the remains of the animals that had been sacrificed. Wiccans also share traditions similar to the Celts on November 1, their Samhain sabbat. CONNECTIONS: The Celts got the tradition of the "Feast of Samhain" and the god Samhain from vampiric legend. The vampires used November 1, the day Samhain discovered how to save half-vampires, to honor him. It was called "the feast of Samhain" because he was supposed to have been requested by his daughter to feast upon her flesh to save her soul to live on in another, when he discovered the cure at first bite. Approximately 200 years after Samhain's death, vampiric legends and myths began to merge with the Celts. In the merge, Samhain became the Lord of Death, and the day we honor him and his discovery became the start of the New year for the Celts. Because the myths and legends of Celtic mythology became mixed from the vampires, the Celts had many odd practices. They sacrificed at first, only humans to Samhain. Then over time they also sacrificed animals and crops. The Celtic belief that Samhain allowed the souls of the dead back stems from the existance of a 2nd deceased vampire's soul in most vampires. Eventually, The origional legends of vampiric history were so distorted that it became Halloween. Halloween is a truly vampiric holiday.

Sorry to anyone frustratd by the typing error so obvious over the last week. I fixed it, those giant spaces, but when I wrote, I was in a hurry and I messed up the first time. But it is better now. I may be making a new vampire fledgling this week, if he still wants to be one after learning all the truth. I am doing it the right way this time and making sure he has al the knowledge before I change him. Yay for me! Well, I am still working on the history and beliefs of my kind, and it should be on by next weekend, or maybe tomorrow. Who knows? It should be pretty interesting. Luck to all who try and understand what is written here....Until Later, Alm perth saeo, alm perth kaim.

VAMPIRIC HEIRARCHY: Depending on how you are "born", you may belong to a coven or not. Most, however, have strict rules, and certain ceremonies. You can not make fledglings without the eldest vampire, or in some cases, group of elder's permission. The pecking order is by age, or vampiric generation. For instance, a 12th generation vampire has to answer to 11, 10, 9, 8...generation vampires. Vampires born out of covens must answer to no one but their vampiric father or mother. A vampire can be adopted into a coven. In sucha case, the vampire in question must be willing, and must pledge themselves to a willing member of the coven. A vampire can also drop out of a coven, which is as simple as stating your desire to withdraw, but as difficult when or if the coven needs you, you must return until you fulfill your debt to your maker. Th debt to your maker is from being changed. You owe them loyalty and unquestionable service until the debt has been fulfilled to your maker's approval. RELATIONS TO OTHER "SUPES": -Most vampires hate werewolves. This is mainly due to their reaction to our wanderlust. They are more possessive than vampires. -Most vampires get along well with Wiccans, or other assorted witches and Pagans. Most of us do not get along well with christians because of their medieval view towards vampires. But some christians are okay, and some vampires go to normal church. It all varies depending on their personality. -Faeries exist, but are hard to see. Very hard. People have seen them, as have vampires. I myself have seen them, and so has my little sister, and my friend Brandi, a Wiccan. We saw them at the same time, in my bedroom. It was pretty cool. -I know nothing of elves, leprachauns, or dwarves. -Ghosts either love us or hate us.

TERRITORIAL ASPECTS: A vampire marks their human "pets" by biting them in a visible area. The bite is usually itchy, but doesn't hurt much. When a vampire claims you, as their lover, to not even be thought of by another vampire, they bite you and the mark burns. It can last up to three days, and it emits a sort of back off signal to other vamps. The difference between the two, is that when they mark a "pet" the bite emits nothing and is sort of like a brand. The bite where they claim you as their lover is nothing like that. Vampires are very possessive and territorial by nature. If someone trespasses on them somehow, for instance, doing something unnaproved with one of their marked persons, they can get angry quickly and strike out. I.E., my last day of school freshman year. The attack is not necessarily physical. We do not like to share. CROSSING OVER TRAUMA: Sometimes a person isn't mentally able to deal with their turning. This results in a highly apathetic and aggressive attitude, and most new fledglings suffering from it will attack people at random, or scare them for fun. it is dangerous, because if not careful, they may accidentally create more vampires, or possibly put themselves at risk. The trauma stage, if apparent, usually ends with something done so horrible that it jerks them back into reality. It is, so far, all that works. However, sometimes the fledgling merely comes to grips with what has happened, and they come out of it. It is a rare occurence though.
